The Three Cosmic Horrors

Human, do not test me. Do you know what I am capable of? I can tear you down mentally. Turn your awareness inwards to your flesh and bones. I can send you into futures both true and false. I will use cosmic horrors to gently remind you of your insignificance. I will remind you that you are a sack of meat, on a rock, in an unfathomable amount of space.
Think about that.

Upon hearing these words, I pause for a moment and my mind thinks about:

1. The unfathomable amounts of space actually in space. The space between Earth and the other plants, between solar systems and galaxies. I think about the immeasurable distances from one edge of the universe to the other edge.
2. I contemplate the unfathomable amounts of space between things. The space between matter, molecules, atoms, the elementary particles. I see strange and tiny worlds, within strange and tiny universes, within strange and tiny worlds, within strange and tiny universes. Stretching on infinitely.
3. I contemplate my place within the incomprehensible macro and micro scales of space on space within space. The space between my elementary particles, atoms, cells, me, the Earth, the solar system, the stars in the universe, the trillions galaxies, the cosmos. Where do I fit in? Where does ‘me’ begin and where exactly does it end?

I resurface and see me. I can clearly see the horror that is outer space but I am just beginning to see the real cosmic horror inward. We have yet to scratch the surface of the horrors that are within us. I have been shown The Three Cosmic Horrors that are outside, inside, and me.
