Remember, We Are Stardust

Have you ever contemplated the eons that will pass when we’re all gone? Like, have you ever actually sat there, and thought about the years, lifetimes, ages, billions upon billions of years that will happen after this moment? Do you ever contemplate our return to stardust?

One day, we’ll all be stardust. All remembrance of us will be gone. Our lives will be long forgotten. An extremely large amount of time will pass; so large that there is no way to imagine it, much less measure it.

From stardust, we will return to elementary particles.
Everyone we’ve known, all that we’ve seen,
everything we’ve experienced will be gone.
We will be stardust.
Everything we’ve accomplished, created, built, discovered,
warred for, suffered for, stashed away for-
will be erased from time.

All that we’ve loved, cried for, worked for, died for
will be stardust once more.

Truly I can guarantee you,
eons from this moment,
no one will remember you because there will be no one left.
There will only be stardust.
