I was at my back door. I could hear the birds calling to me from the outside. I sent to find some birdseed so I could feed them. I grabbed a handful of birdseed and opened the back door. Immediately, a bird came from behind and landed on my hand. It was a tiny, brightly colored male goldfinch. The goldfinch must've been trapped inside my house because I just opened the door.
I was surprised because it showed no fear and started playing with the seeds in my hand. I was overcome with joy because this little bird did not show any fear towards me, a big scary human.
